The OAS Recognizes International Women\u2019s Day 2024: Empowering Women Across the Eastern Caribbean Towards Business Success<\/a><\/div>

March 4, 2024 \u2013 The Organization of American States (OAS) through its Executive Secretariat for Integral Development (SEDI) extends Congratulations to all women of the Americas in recognition of International Women\u2019s Day (IWD) on March 8, 2024. The Women\u2019s Economic Empowerment (WEE) project is one of the initiatives that reinforces the Organization\u2019s dedication to inspiring inclusion of women in economic development. Through the WEE project, the OAS remains dedicated to inspiring inclusion of women in economic development by empowering women led and owned Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to take advantage of the digital economy and build sustainable livelihoods across the six participating Eastern Caribbean countries: Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Saint Lucia, St. Kitts and Nevis, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines. OAS Executive Secretary for Integral Development, Kim Osborne said \u201cThe OAS is committed to inspiring women by investing in their economic empowerment. In celebration of International Women\u2019s Day and the OAS WEE project's significant contributions to the advancement of women across the Eastern Caribbean, we are pleased to announce that virtual workshops will be hosted, focused on unpacking the OAS Business Formalization Toolkits which have been specifically designed to guide women-led and owned MSMEs in formalizing their businesses in each participating country. These toolkits offer comprehensive guidance and practical resources to assist women in navigating the process of formalizing their businesses. By equipping them with the necessary tools and knowledge, we aim to facilitate their access to financial services, markets, and other opportunities for growth. These curated workshops will be held during March 4th - 6th, at 5:00 - 6:00 pm and 6:30 - 7:30 pm each evening for each of the six countries. We extend a warm invitation to all women-led and owned MSMEs, as well as other MSME stakeholders, to participate in these insightful virtual workshops. La Secretar\u00eda Ejecutiva para el Desarrollo Integral de la Organizaci\u00f3n de los Estados Americanos (OEA-SEDI) anuncia la finalizaci\u00f3n de una serie de capacitaciones en l\u00ednea y en vivo sobre diversas herramientas para ayudar a las mujeres a participar en la econom\u00eda digital. La capacitaci\u00f3n fue ofrecida por Meta, en el marco de su Acuerdo de Cooperaci\u00f3n con la OEA\/SEDI para apoyar la implementaci\u00f3n del Programa de Empoderamiento Econ\u00f3mico de las Mujeres en Centroam\u00e9rica y el Caribe. M\u00e1s de 950 mujeres se beneficiaron de estas oportunidades de formaci\u00f3n. Se ofreci\u00f3 capacitaci\u00f3n para los siguientes pa\u00edses participantes: El Salvador, Honduras y Guatemala, en Centroam\u00e9rica, y Antigua y Barbuda, Dominica, Granada, St. Kitts y Nevis, Santa Luc\u00eda y San Vicente y las Granadinas, en el Caribe. En Centroam\u00e9rica el Programa se est\u00e1 implementando en alianza con el Centro Regional de Promoci\u00f3n de la MIPYME (CENPROMYPE). Las mujeres empresarias han indicado que el contenido proporcionado las ha posicionado para hacer avanzar sus negocios. La empresaria Naomi Bannis-Sampson, directora general de Bannis Farms Products en Dominica, afirm\u00f3 que estaba decidida a comprender c\u00f3mo utilizar las herramientas de Meta, incluidos los reels en Instagram y Facebook, que son necesarias para hacer crecer su negocio y mejorar su presencia en l\u00ednea. Programas como este demuestran el compromiso continuo de la OEA\/SEDI con el desarrollo de capacidades de las mujeres y la ampliaci\u00f3n de oportunidades para su participaci\u00f3n en el desarrollo socioecon\u00f3mico de sus pa\u00edses.
